Rosti are an international injection moulding company with a manufacturing facility in North Yorkshire. They needed to extend their existing service yard and consulted with the Structural Engineer on the project to recommend a groundworks company that could complete the job whilst working around a live manufacturing site. The structural engineer recommended us, having worked with us on several other projects.
The Project
The project was quite large and involved bulk earthworks, draining construction and concrete yard construction which had to be completed in 10 weeks. Working around a live site meant works were carefully sequenced and material delivery meticulously coordinated.
The yard had to be constructed over an existing drainage ditch, which meant a full reshape of the ditch was required and then the installation of a further 300mm diameter drainage system to carry any surface water away to the onsite attenuation pond.
The sequencing of the works was critical due to the manufacturing facility being fully operational – with the drainage works being carried out first and all the materials in and out of site coming through via a single access point adjacent to the site. Followed by the completion of the 1400m2 reinforced concrete yard.
The Outcome
Following on from a successful project completion the client has asked us to look at additional works within the same facility.
